Over the last few years, there has been a lot of talk about a Spice Girls reunion — and Mel C, Sporty Spice herself, is insisting that it must happen next year in 2026.
While backstage at this year's iHeartRadio Z100 Jingle Ball presented by Capital One, and when asked if the girl group would reunite anytime soon, Mel shared, "My thoughts are it has to happen. It has to happen! 'Wannabe' is 30 next July, and we have to celebrate it some way. And I can't think of a better way than getting on stage."
So, will they? Won't they? It's definitely a possibility!
Elsewhere backstage, Mel C opened up about her new music and her recently-released single, "Sweat," which includes a sample of icon Diana Ross' hit "Work That Body." She shared, "There’s a fantastic sample from the beautiful and wonderful Diana Ross — I have a sample from 'Work That Body.'" She added, "All these things have just come together and created this. For me, it's a bit of a new sound, but I feel like it’s the right sound for me."
The single also reflects Mel C’s personal growth and experience as a DJ. “I wanted to have a little bit more fun with my music. I’ve been DJing for about eight years now, so I wanted to bring my pop music a bit closer to the house music that I play when I’m out in the clubs,” she said.
To relive the holiday magic, iHeartRadio is partnering with ABC to bring the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour to even more fans across the country, as an exclusive network special will be aired on December 17th and next day on Hulu.
